Full-time Position Mission The Director of Operations within the Formation Department will oversee the implementation of formative vision throughout FOCUS's key channels such as New Staff Training, Lifelong Mission Training, and Formative Enterprises (SEEK, Retreats, Summer Projects, and Missions).
For the large efforts which already have managers, the Director of Operations will manage those managers.
For the smaller efforts which do not have managers, the Director of Operations will work directly with those executing the logistics for the undertakings.
The Director of Operations will report to the Sr.
Director of Formation.
Position Responsibilities Collaboration with formative design team Within the Formation Department, some members of the team are responsible for formative design, deciding what those we are forming should be formed in and what individuals (teachers, speakers, priest, etc.
should do that formation).
The Director of Operations will work closely with the director of the design team to understand the vision for formation prior to driving the implementation of that vision.
Implementing formative design With the formative design in hand, the Director of Operations will coordinate the implementation of that design across FOCUS' key channels such as New Staff Training, Lifelong Mission Training, and the Formative Enterprises (SEEK, Retreats, Summer Projects, and Missions).
To this end, he or she will:
Plan the projects and steps needed to implement the formative design Coordinate the people and resources involved in order to accomplish the goal Problem-solve issues that arise along the way Monitor progress and performance Establish processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness Build systems that enable the operations to scale Management, hiring, and promoting Some of the channels of formative implementation (e.
g.
, New Staff Training, Team Director Training, and Retreats) are led by managers within the Formation Department.
In those cases, the Director of Operations will manage those individuals.
He or she will strive to develop direct reports with an eye toward their promotion.
He or she will also endeavor to hire individuals to meet departmental needs, especially as FOCUS continues to grow.
Interdepartmental collaboration Other channels of formative implementation (e.
g.
, SEEK, Sumer Projects, and Mission Trips) are led by managers outside the Formation Department.
In those cases, the Director of Operations will work cross-deparmentally directly with effort leaders on those undertakings in order to implement the formative design.
