Director Finance - The Eddy
Overview This position supervises and directs the financial activities for for 1 full service and 1 limited service hotels in a centralized environment.
The ideal candidate will have hospitality accounting experience, preferably with hands-on multi property experience.
This position works in coordination with the hotel support team and is responsible for the timely and accurate financial statement presentation in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities Oversees the activities of the accounting team on site or within the centralized processing office for the accurate and timely dissemination of the financial statements including the management report package.
Analyze financial data of operations in order to educate and advise hotel staff and management on the value and benefits of internal controls and maintaining an efficient operation Assist and counsel all department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability Coordinate the maximization of labor productivity and the ability to lead and educate the property team to achieve expected labor standards Prepare, review, and present the monthly financials and the annual forecast projections throughout the year and advise hotel management, corporate office, and owners of any major variances and their impact on the operation Attending and leading financial review on ownership calls, liaison between hotel and ownership etc.
Lead budget and forecast preparation in a collaborative environment Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues including at a minimum monthly cash flows statements for owners.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Regional DOF and assisting in the timely clearing of reconciling items Work with the hotel management team to adhere to the prescribed SOP's Coordination for both internal and external audits to ensure desired results Ensure hotels' compliance on regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts and proper execution of operational tax obligations including Sales and Transient occupancy taxes Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks Ability to effectively communicate with Property leaders Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent required 4 year college degree required - Accounting degree preferred At least 3 years' experience as hotel controller At least 3 years' experience in direct supervision and management preferred Oracle software experience preferred Profitsword experience preferred Ability to travel up to 50% We offer a competitive benefit package for full-time, regular team members that includes:
