Director of Labor Relations

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Director of Labor Relations on a Direct Hire basis for our client in Golden, CO.
SummaryThis individual will work with HR leadership to supervise and orchestrate the companys labor and employee relations initiatives, programs, and services.
They will be responsible for managing and guiding the implementation and understanding of all labor agreements in line with local and national laws, board regulations, and mutually agreed contracts.
They will also offer guidance and recommendations to leadership staff on matters related to labor and employee relations.
Responsibilities Guide Employee and Labor Relations staff to offer support and solutions to leadership for resolving employee-related matters.
Streamline processes for problem resolution.
Act as a specialist in resolving complex employee issues, guiding employee relations and HR staff in process compliance.
Advise HR staff on topics such as employee discipline, grievance procedures, and performance review processes.
Collaborate with the HR team in managing administrative leave procedures, focusing on individual placements.
Manage the companys investigation process, ensuring thorough investigations and clearly documented outcomes, including ADA accommodations and employee grievances.
Handle complex misconduct investigations when needed, and make policy-compliant corrective action recommendations.
Lead the companys Unemployment Insurance response, representing the company in hearings or overseeing staff attendance.
Manage the companys pre-employment background check and arrest notification process, ensuring policy understanding among stakeholders.
Lead or facilitate labor union contract negotiations, preparing data to support the companys stance, and manage contract interpretation.
Advise the Executive Team in negotiation strategy, providing research-based labor relations recommendations.
Conduct or oversee grievance hearings, acting as a bridge between administrators and legal counsel on personnel matters.
Collaborate with HR teams to design and implement training programs on topics like policies, contract administration, labor relation, management topics, and regulatory compliance.
Manage the Employee & Labor relations team's budget, coordinating with HR leadership on financial management.
Required Skills 7 years' experience in human resources, employee relations, and/or labor relations.
Demonstrated knowledge in labor relations and general HR practices.
Strong background working with labor unions and negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Ability to problem solve.
Bachelor's degree in HR, management, business, public policy, or a related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
Certified Labor Relations Professional, Senior Professional of Human Resources or similar certification preferred.
Prior experience in an education or other public sector environment is highly preferred.
Salary range:
$110,000-$140,000+No third parties.
H1 sponsorship is not available.
