Description:
The Regional Homeless Coordinator is responsible for leading Jefferson County and municipalities on all aspects of homelessness in the region.
This position establishes effective strategies and solutions to reduce homelessness by using data-driven solutions and resources available at the county, state, and federal levels.
The Regional Homeless Coordinator works in collaboration with County and City Managers, County Department and Division Directors, Non-Profit Executive Directors, and law enforcement agencies.
Leads the Heading Home committee efforts to ensure that activities align with the goals and objectives as defined by municipal and county government leadership.
Serves as the lead for county-wide governance on all matters related to homelessness in Jefferson County.
This position identifies government and community infrastructure gaps and develops strategies and policies to improve homelessness intervention and prevention services.

This individual works closely with all levels of staff, including directors and supervisors across all programs, and with external stakeholders.
The position requires a self-motivated and driven professional who elevates their internal and external interactions by modeling humility through excellent written and verbal communication.
Schedule:
This position typically operates on a five-day work week (Monday-Friday).
This position is hybrid, with remote work and in-office work as needed but requires some flexibility with working hours to accommodate occasional weekend and evening engagement requirements.
Hiring Range:
$75,000 - $93,000 USD Annually Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties:
Homelessness Strategic Plan:
Develops a regional strategic plan with all stakeholders in Jefferson County that will look at the continuum of need to both prevent and end homelessness.
During the planning process, build a coalition of supporters who can take on different roles of meeting the needs of the plan.
Leads city and county government officials (City/County Managers, Board of County Commissioners, City Council members, law enforcement agencies) to identify and implement sound strategies that are solution based and coordinated amongst all stakeholders.
Develops both long term and short term plans utilizing best practices.
Coordinates with law enforcement, state officials, faith-based organizations, non-profits, housing authorities and other community agencies to nurture existing partnerships and build new relationships.
Promotes coordination amongst existing programs and networks to better streamline services available throughout the County.
Collaborates with stakeholders to identify prevention programs, crisis response, and comprehensive supports.
Internal Leadership, Communication and Collaboration:
Ensures all navigator leaders and supervisors have access to relevant and current resource information.
Supports the navigator leadership team in assessing gaps in existing systems and identify solutions to address short and long term needs to respond to a spectrum of homelessness.
Supervises staff in area of responsibility.
Administers and makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, granting leave, appraisals, and taking corrective action.
Conducts performance evaluations and communicates short- and long-term goals and objectives.
Submits personnel records and reports as required by the county.
Assists and advises subordinates as necessary, resolves problems as non-routine situations arise, and ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
Communicates changes in policy and procedures to direct reports and implements them as directed.
Community Collaboration:
Serves as the Chair of the Heading Home community collaborative.
Responsible for agenda building, presentations, and facilitation of meetings.
Key priority area is to revise and complete the Plan to End Homelessness in coordination with cities and county leadership to ensure alignment with government and community goals.
Hosts and attends forums and meetings to discuss current events that relate to homeless issues in Jefferson County.
Prepare and deliver presentations in the community for both educational purposes and partnership building.
Assists with and supports efforts to collect and compile data on Jefferson County homeless issues, i.
e.
, Point in Time, and additional efforts to count and address homelessness populations and needs.
Homeless Population Count:
Leads the Point-In-Time Count effort for the Jefferson County region in coordination with the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative.
Supports all planning efforts to ensure all components are implemented effectively working with government, non-profit, and community partners to support the execution of the count.
Current & Future Budget Planning:
Identifies sound fiscal practices that maximize and leverage existing funding sources, flexibility, and creativity to carry out goals in the area of homelessness services while identifying ways to eliminate duplication.
Identify new funding streams and research, write, and prepare grant applications to secure funding.
Oversees a program budget.
Supports grant applications with evidenced based research in alignment with community goals.
Data Analysis:
Utilizes the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for data and analysis; supports other Jefferson County organizations and municipal governments with utilizing the system.
Coordinates efforts with the Community Development team in Jefferson County and each municipality to ensure the homeless strategies and activities align and connect to housing activities; uses data to help inform housing strategies being deployed in each jurisdiction.

Minimal
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in political science, social work, psychology, public administration, or related field; Plus, a minimum of five years of experience; Or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
