Summary:
Our client's Communications Office has an opening for a full-time remote Digital Content Manager to support their work with multiple U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) programs including wind, manufacturing, and state and community energy programs.
This position requires the ability to use a web content management system to edit and maintain content for a government website, produce electronic newsletters, and track and report on analytics.
Manage digital content for Energy.
gov websites including ensuring alignment with NREL/EERE brand and style guidelines and web standards and adherence to Section 508 accessibility requirements Develop and maintain web content using a CMS platform such as Drupal and basic HTML coding Prepare and distribute e-newsletters to stakeholders through direct marketing platforms Manage small web projects Format documents and images including alternative (alt) text for the web Gather, analyze, and present quarterly and annual stats from Google Analytics Implement digital content best practices such as search engine optimization and user experience Work with communications office teammates to plan and implement optimal digital solutions that meet and exceed client expectations Perform quality assurance checks on websites and applications for standards and accessibility Inform clients, project managers, and team leaders on project status Apply problem-solving skills on a daily basis.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or other related field Minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience Experience working in a CMS Knowledge of HTML Experience managing email tools (GovDelivery) and creating HTML email Experience editing for style, grammar, and punctuation Basic project management skills Experience pulling and presenting Google Analytics reports Experience optimizing images for web Understanding of web and UX best practices Meticulous attention to detail and quality A positive attitude and collaborative work style Nimbleness needed to multitask in a fast-paced communications agency-like setting Experience coordinating deadline-oriented projects and tasks Comfort with tracking time for billing clients.

Qualifications:
Web writing and editing skills Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements Familiarity with Drupal and Adobe Creative Cloud Familiarity with web analytics such as Google Analytics and Crazy Egg Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as GovDelivery and MailChimp Experience optimizing images for web Experience with project management and collaboration platforms, such as Microsoft Teams and Asana Experience adhering to a style guide Prior roles in a communication/public relations/advertising agency or similar corporate/organization department Familiarity with renewable energy and/or energy efficiency.
Interested candidates should be comfortable working within content management systems (CMS) such as Drupal and have familiarity with HTML coding.
The position also creates and sends email from email marketing platforms such as GovDelivery; sizes and optimizes images for web; and reviews and edits web content.
The ability to quickly turnaround content and maintenance requests from clients and to juggle multiple tasks efficiently is critical.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and quality.
