Position Overview A motivated problem solver who can collaborate effectively within a team and accurately process high volumes of transactions and remittances, scanning, and post payment reconciliations while observing all relevant regulations and protocols.
Essential Functions Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication.
Research accounts and post all incoming transactions into the EPM system within 48 hours of receipt of the data - following internal controls to ensure proper posting and write-off protocols.
Balance and close all batches timely and accurately.
Utilize proper ANSI codes when posting payments to ensure accurate reporting.
File/scan supporting documents timely and accurately as directed.
Address payment issues like double payments or other discrepancies in a timely manner.
Complete monthly adjustments in the EPM as directed timely and accurately.
Validate and process all refund checks from the Refund Clerk Respond to patient inquires and complaints with 48 hours of date of receipt Pro-actively escalate issues and conflict to the RCM Supervisor and/or RCM Manager as needed Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other RCM Team Lead Colleagues Demonstrate effective supervisory skills Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships Must demonstrate an above average ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Must demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion Participates in professional development activities and attends staff and committee meetings as required Assist team members as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required High School Diploma or GED.
2 Years of billing experience in a medical office or hospital a plus.
Excellent 10-key skills.
EHR experience highly preferred Excellent interpersonal communication skills Ability to maintain quality control standards Ability to meet deadlines Detailed oriented and organized Ability to communicate with team members at all levels of the organization Pay & Benefits Information This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime.
The pay range for this position is $15.
77 to $23.
65 per hour, DOE.
