Director / PD# 44056-0 The Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Denver Logistics Center (DLC) is responsible for directing and overseeing the Operations Service and Services and Distribution Center Service.
These offices provide services that are national in scope and support the entire VA and other federal agencies.
The incumbent actively participates in formulating and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines that have nationwide implications for these areas.
The incumbent also undertakes staff assignments that are highly complex, broad in scope, and potentially sensitive and/or controversial.
The work ranges from development of highly technical information technology projects to the day-to-day maintenance of a warehouse environment.
Responsible for all aspects of management including employee development, employee evaluations, and corrective actions.
With responsibility for overseeing and directing the full range of the VA needed publications, printing, transportation and relocation programs, as well as other general manpower and management programs.
Directs functions and activities, which facilitate effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of programs.
performs the full range of managerial personnel functions.
Keeping subordinate managers informed of personnel management programs and employee services, approves subordinates, selections of employees to fill key vacancies, selects key subordinate officials, and develops training plans for key subordinates.

Time-in-grade:
Applicants who are current Federal employees or who have held a GS grade anytime in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
Example for a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 level.
Specialized Experience (GS-15):
Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-14) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Ability to effectively lead and manage personnel and activities that provide customer-service support to specific clientele.
Effectively expresses information to multiple audiences through clear, convincing oral and written communications; demonstrates logical thinking when describing facts and concepts, and shapes communications to meet the needs of a specific audience:
actively listens to others and demonstrates understanding of their comments and/or questions.
Knowledge of logistics principles, policies and processes to execute a successful supply chain management-driven organization.
Reviewing customer requirements, the organization's capabilities and operations, and coordinating and executing the optimal operational procedures to support Customers' requirements.
Knowledge to administer human resources, financial, material, and information technology resources in a manner which installs public trust and accomplishes the organization's mission, and to use new technology to enhance decision making.
Ability to analyze organizational and operation problems and develop solutions.
Making major recommendations regarding restructuring the organization; determining the future of organizations projects; the types and amounts of resources devoted to projects; and policy formulation.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
