Logistics Management Specialist / PD#44223-A, 44224-A Controls and coordinates the ordering, purchasing, dispensing and inventory management of stocked items, and buy-on-demand supplies required by the DLC. Performs full-spectrum multi-functional logistics activities, which include acquisition, operations management, warehousing, shipping and receiving, and supply data statistical analysis. Establishes and maintains supply accounting records that support commodity distribution operations to Veterans and medical centers on a national and international level. Monitors and analyzes all requests for new items to ensure compliance with established VA and Federal procurement guidelines. Tracks and trends demand requirements using statistical models and operations management equations (regression analysis, exponential smoothing etc. Analyzes inactive/long supply stock in order to determine if items should be deleted, maintained or excesses. Determine the appropriate source for replenishment of stock using cataloged sources of vendor information. Conduct warehouse inventory of stock on-hand. Searches and analyzes information in numerous reports and databases to resolve order or inventory discrepancies. Maintain a first-in-first out inventory system ensuring correct stock locations and rotations. Process individual orders for receipt and direct shipment to Veterans and healthcare facilities worldwide. Ensures reorder points are nested within warehouse space limitations and aligned with current demands. Prepare product information in a logical format for a publicly facing catalog. Analyze usage patterns of inventoried items to determine the appropriate replenishment level. Evaluate seasonal demands or other situations impacting fluctuation in usage. Creates recurring reports as needed using Microsoft Excel to determine economic order quantities based off procurement lead times. Determine or report estimated annual usage requirements for commercial items. Utilize computer systems and programs for quality control, discrepancy analysis and resolution, and identifying correct stock locations. Review customer requests for new items to ensure compliance with established guidelines. Verify unusual customer requirements that deviate from normal patterns. Plan procurement actions to maintain effective customer support. Generate reports utilizing computer systems that maintain data on inventory products, purchase orders, contract and vendor files. Answer inquiries via e-mail or phone regarding supply management issues such as procedures, deliveries, line items, policies, regulations, or contract provisions. Expedite procurement actions when low or out-of-stock situations arise to minimize delays in shipments. Follow up on problematic order situations such as overages, shortages, or discrepancies in billing and payment for orders. Reconstructs procurement actions to resolve problems and initiate corrective action utilizing independent judgment. Initiate action to resolve discrepancies between merchandise received and product specifications or other contract/purchase order provisions. Dispose of excess supplies that cannot be effectively utilized in order to reduce inventory. Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for numerous nation- wide commodity contracts that support the strategic procurement actions for VA Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service. Serves as a Government Purchase Card holder. Facilitate the procurement of supplies and services that support the organizational mission. Applicants who are current Federal employees or who have held a GS grade anytime in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. Example for a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 level. Specialized Experience (GS-07/09) GS-07:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
